Douala: Several Fire Accidents as Eneo Ndokoti Loses Equipment to Inferno

A serious fire broke out in an important and strategic Eneo base in the Ndokoti district of Douala.

There are reports from Douala in the Littoral region that an important section of ENEO base in Ndokoti has been ravaged by an inferno.

Since Monday, February 26, 2018 in the late morning, several customers of Eneo, the company in charge of the production, transport and marketing of electricity in the city of Douala are in the "dark".

A serious fire broke out around 10am on Monday, February 26, 2018 in an important and strategic Eneo base in the Ndokoti district, in Douala 5, causing damage to several equipment, sources said.

"A fire broke out in the power transformer maintenance workshop at our Bassa-Douala operational base. The firefighters were able to circumscribe and control the flames quickly. Normal resumption of the Service for all affected customers ... from 4 pm,” explained the communication unit of ENEO.

Despite the rain that has fallen in Douala since Sunday February 25, several fire tragedies have been recorded in the city of late.

The first fire ravaged Sunday February 25, 2018 in the early hours of the evening, a large equipment around a Total gas station in Logbaba district, in Douala 3 and another fire broke out Monday at noon in a shop in the Bonapriso district, in the Douala 1municipality.
In each of the fire accidents, relief efforts have succeeded to preempt heavy disaster even if a few disasters were recorded.

The case of ENEO Ndokoti was the third in Douala in less than 24 hours.
