This challenge was given them by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, while on a working visit to Douala on Tuesday April 10, 2018.
During his visit, the minister held meetings with local, traditional and administrative authorities of the city during which meetings they discussed ways and means of maintaining peace in the region.

The littoral region thus becomes the fourth region the minister was visiting since his appointment into the current portfolio he occupies. Atanga Nji Paul, had earlier been to the crisis hit Northwest and Southwest regions of the country where he told the people therein that he was bearer of a message of peace.
While in the Southwest region, Paul Atanga Nji advised Ambazonia fighters to surrender their weapons and come out of the bushes where they were hiding so that they could be forgotten by the state or else be chased.
He however reminded everyone that dialogue to seek a solution to the crisis could only happen within the framework of state institutions.
He also paid a visit to the West region, which is the closest neighbor to the troubled Northwest region especially.
Ever since he took over command of the ministry he now occupies, Paul Atanga Nji, has shown immense concern for the peace of this country even if some critics chide him heavily for repeatedly denying the existence of an Anglophone problem.
Upon appointment, he announced suspensions on the circulation of motorbikes in some parts of the two English speaking regions.
