Anglophone Crisis: Populations Agitate as Outlawed Consortium adds Ghost Town Days

There is apparently a seed of discord and argy bargy, amongst inhabitants of the crisis hit Northwest and Southwest regions, as the outlawed consortium recently issued a communiqué that widely circulated on social media, calling for the increase of ghost town days from one to three weekly.
According to the communiqué signed by Tassang Wilfred, ghost towns are expected to be observed in the two regions on Mondays through Wednesdays weekly.
This decision of the banned consortium’s, has been greatly indicted by inhabitants in the two troubled regions who are apparently suffocating under the weight of the hazards ghost towns have been bringing to their economy.

Not only is the population that has picked holes in the decision of the outlawed consortium, but also one of the activists in the Anglophone struggle, Tapang Ivo, who has challenged the decision, citing the adverse effects this could bring to the lives of the people.

It should be recalled that, no matter how discomforted people might feel about certain decisions taken by the banned consortium, they are often bound to respect given that some of the decisions are often accompanied by threats against defaulters.
TCR has understood that, the decision to add the number of ghost towns to three by the banned consortium, is aimed at forestalling government’s efforts to cause schools to effectively resume in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon.
Some parents have expressed the desire to send their children to school come September, but concerns about the security of their children seems to be taking a toll on this burning desire. However, some schools in the two regions have been registering students ahead of the 2017/2018 academic year.
Government on its part, has been assuring everyone of dispositions taken to ensure the security of students and pupils.
