Hospital in Trouble for Burning Corpse without Knowledge of Owners

he eight-month-old baby was buried on March 28 instead of another kid after an unfortunate body swap at the morgue.

The Timone Hospital (Marseille) is under a complaint lodged on 1 March by a couple of Cameroonian origin for "attacking the integrity of a corpse", after the incineration, by mistake, the remains of their baby who died a few days earlier from a heart condition.

The parents of little Moses learned of the cremation of their child on Wednesday, when everything was ready for his funeral. They had already spent several hours in the morgue before hospital officials informed them that the body of their son was burned to the ground that morning in the city Aubagne (South-East of France), a thing which the couple did not accept as incineration is not allowed in their culture of origin.

They took legal action to shed light on the exchange of labels that led to this situation and also that the responsibilities were cleared. The Timone Hospital has opened an internal investigation.
