ournal du Cameroun.com has reported that two alleged secessionists have killed themselves in detention cells in Mundemba, in the Southwest region of Cameroon.
TCR learnt that the two alleged secessionists were detained in the gendarmerie brigade of the said locality for interrogation in relation to activities (secessionists) for which they were accused after an attack last Saturday in which they are said to have participated.
The suspected secessionists killed themselves on Sunday in Mundemba. They were part of a group of armed individuals who broke into the town of Mundemba the day before, while the wedding festivities of a soldier were taking place.
Gunfire exchanges took place between the defense forces and the attackers. Two suspected secessionist fighters were arrested and shotguns, machetes, knives and other weapons were seized.
This caused guests at the wedding party to prematurely return to their various homes. Meanwhile, the two alleged secessionists were taken to the gendarmerie brigade and detained.
According to Journalducameroun.com, before their deaths, the two had already been interrogated but they refused to talk.
Another suspected secessionist was arrested Sunday in the same city. He was in possession of a large stock of tramadol which he was to distribute.
