KUMBA: Bike Rider Shot to Death

A commercial bike rider has reportedly been killed in Kumba on Thursday evening around the gendarmerie brigade in Buea road.

The Bike rider whose name TCR was unable to get at press time, was crossing the road when gendarme officers were lowering the Cameroon flag.

At the time the killed bike rider rode past there, all roads had been blocked for respect to be given to the national symbol. TCR learnt that the bike rider forced his way to cross the blocked road.

According to sources, a Gendarmerie officer then responded by firing in the air before also firing at the bike rider who ran for about 100m before collapsing with his bike. He was rushed to hospital but all efforts to save his life failed.

He gave off the ghost few minutes after arriving in hospital. This is the second bike rider that has been killed in Kumba since the beginning of this year.
