AFCON 2019: Cameroon Feels the Jitters as CAF Postpones Inspection Mission

In a correspondence addressed to the Secretary-General of Cameroon Football federation (Fecafoot), the acting secretary of the CIF has indicated the reason for the withdrawal of the company Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) which was to accompany this inspection of facilities to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2019.
The first inspector was set to arrive the country on Saturday, 19th, others were expected on Sunday 20th and the rest on Monday 21st August 2017 for a one week mission.
The programme had been outlined and all competent authorities mobilised to receive the delegation.
The AFCON Local Organising Committee endorsed the programme schedule and completed all practical modalities for their sojourn in Cameroon.

Less than two days to go, CAF notifies Cameroon through FECAFOOT that the mission had been postponed. The letter explains that the firm chosen to assist the African football body has abstained.
Many questions were asked, rumours had it that the firm had raised security concerns to CAF.
In a letter dated 18th August 2017, the President of the Cameroon Football Federation wrote to the Secretary General of CAF stating that all security measures had been put in place to welcome the mission.
Cameroonians are presently questioning the consequence of the postponement.
The President of the Confederation of African Football, for the first time, decided to associate an audit firm to a CAF inspection mission to size-up a country's readiness for an AFCON tournament.
The Audit Firm, Price Water House was chosen by the African football governing body.
