Heavy Gun Battle in Njinikom as Secessionists Attack Gendarmerie Station

Calm is gradually returning to Njinikon village in the Boyo division of the North West region after some armed men attacked a Gendarmerie Station as well as a filling station therein.

According to sources, the attack that has been blamed on secessionists left both secessionists and security forces seriously injured.

According to the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Boyo, Fidel Tene, a number of casualties were recorded on the side of the attackers. He said, “On Saturday, we faced a new attack by secessionists at the Brigade of Njinikom. They used a private vehicle which they operated and attacked a filling station of Nijnikom but luckily enough, all the gendarmes were on their alert and they reacted promptly and the assailants have human losses on their side and many cases of injury.

According to sources, the attackers proceeded to burning a vehicle that they took from a business magnate in Fundong.

The SDO of Boyo has used the opportunity to urge the population of Fundong to be more vigilant and report any suspicious persons to authorities.
