Ngaoundere: Soldier Kills, Secretly Buries Wife during Forceful Abortion of Her Pregnancy

Esther Néné, a married woman and mother of two, died as a result of an abortion performed by a private serviceman serving with the fire department.
On March 15, 2018, firefighters with members of the gendarmerie and the Military Security of Ngaoundéré in the Adamawa region, dug up a grave in which they buried the remains of Esther Néné, a high school student in Government High School Djohong, in the Mbere division.
According to the uncle of the girl, she was killed by her lover that compelled her to get rid of her pregnancy and that she died in the process and was buried.
The shocking tragedy happened on February 10, 2018, an online publication Cameroon Info Net has reported.

“She came to Ngaoundéré on February 9th from Djohong where she lived to refill her gas bottle.
But the next day, we could not reach her phone. On February 12, while we were conducting a search, we began to receive messages, one of which was said that she had been found at the Douala airport, bound for Spain with a Whiteman. Another phone call stated that she had been arrested in Morocco because her papers were not complete,” said the uncle of the deceased.

After making a requisition to have the list of calls, it turned out that these phone calls came from Ngaoundere, according to the French language triweekly, L’oeil du Sahel of Friday, March 16, 2018.
Our search and investigation continued and finally led us to a second class soldier named Paul, apparently author of the said calls, who said he was a nurse at the military garrison of Ngaoundere but was actually in service with the firefighters.

During interrogations, the accused initially denied every allegation leveled against him but finally admitted that the deceased came to see him and died after an abortion he performed on her.
A source reports that Esther Nene, married to a service adjutant in Tignere and mother of two children, was buried next to the Yoko stadium, reported L’oeil du Sahel.
