Despite a travel ban that had been imposed on the erstwhile Minister of water and Energy by security operatives in the country, Basile Atangana Kouna is currently on the run.
Sources say that the wife of the minister has rather been arrested, and was at press time being interrogated by the judicial police in Yaoundé.
For his part, former CAMWATER General Manager Jean William Sollo, is reportedly under arrest.
Police are currently searching for the disappeared former Minister of Water and Energy.
Jean Williams Sollo the ex-DG of the National Office of Forest Development (Onadef) and former boss of the CRC would now be imprisoned. His former boss is on the run and is intensively sought after throughout the country by law enforcement officers.
Aline Mengue Akono, wife of Atangana Kouna, has however denied knowing where her husband is. However, our sources tell us that he confided to his children several days ago that he will disappear for a moment.
Four other former state officials are believed to be detained with Jean William Sollo.
Recall that Mr. Williams Sollo, during the cold war between him and his boss, referred to the audit of the financial statements of December 31, 2003 and 2004, made by the firm of auditors, in order that his former boss Atangana Kouna be arrested.
