A Cameroonian soldier has been brutally killed in the Far North region of the country by militants of the Islamic terrorist sect Boko Haram.
According to reports, he was part of a convoy heading for Kousséri, in the Far North region of Cameroon. Three of his comrades were wounded, and another is reported missing.
Cyriaque Nzie Nzie died Wednesday, March 28, 2018. He was shot by fighters of the Boko Haram sect. The soldier of the 4th company of the marine (based in Soueram) was part of a convoy supposed to accompany a military security mission to Kousséri, in the Far-North region of Cameroon.
The convoy was ambushed by terrorists of the Boko Haram sect, at about 8:30am, in the locality of Dega, between Soueram and Fotokol.
The exchanges of fire resulted to four injuries in the ranks of the Cameroonian soldiers. Lieutenant (Navy) Leonard Ekongolo, Sergeant Oumarou Bello, Armel Paulin Tchouakwi and Cyriaque Nzie Nzie were evacuated to N'Djamena after the attack.
The latter succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, Jerry Elysee Sone Sone, who also was seriously injured during the attack, is reported missing. Compiled by LVV
