- Family members flee as military intensify Manhunts
- Security forces storm hospital, arrest and kill suspects
- Fru Ndi Reacts bitterly to the military brutality
Two victims
of the Menka Pinyin massacre incident perpetrated by Cameroonian military are
reported to have escape and are alive but their where about remained unknown as
security forces intensify manhunt on them. The victims TCR learn are Ndiforwah
Joseph Alloh and Alondi Moses Senwune all children from the subdivision.
It should be
recalled that on Friday may 22nd 2018, forces of law and order
carried an operation in a motel in Menka
a village in Santa Subdivision and 32 people mostly young people were killed.
TCR gather
from sources in the village that 3 men alleged to be leading a defense wing of
the Anglophone struggle came to the village and told the Fon that they were
there to recruit young people in the village to protect the village against
military attack since the military has been burning villages and looting
properties as they search for separatist fighters. “We never knew that it was a
trapped to kill all young people in this village” the source told TCR
The 3 men are
reported to have recruited over 35 young people with the support of the
traditional ruler of the village. TCR also gathered that the 32 youth were to
undergo a training session after which they were going to act as a vigilante
group that informs and protects the village against any military invasion.
A young man
name withheld for security reasons in an audio message circulated on social media
said “I was suppose to attain the meeting in the hotel with other youth but I
had some dresses to wash so I first went to the stream hopping that after
finishing I will join them, while I was there the Fon and 3 other persons saw
me and asked if I am not joining the rest of the youth in the motel I told him
that I will join them after washing the dresses. Later I heard gunshots at the hotel
and I started running and few minutes later I saw a car running on speed far
away from the hotel I suspect that the Fon and other elites in the village were
behind the incident” the audio said.
On the spot
of the incident, corpses were sported around the hotel and a corpse of a girl
was seen hanging on the ceiling.
3 others
youth that were injured and rush to the hospital were said to have been pullout
of the hospital by security forces and killed properly to wipe out any evidence
of what transpired in the hotel before the incident took place.
A family in
the village said they did not see corpses of 3 of their sons that were amongst
the youth in the hotel. Amongst the 3 corpses not found 2 were identified as
Ndiforwah Joseph Alloh and Alondi Moses Senwune who till the time of this
report have not been found.
TCR gathered
that security forces have raided the family house of Ndiforwah Joseph Alloh and Alondi Moses
Senwune proberly to arrest and kill them but unable to find them.
Meanwhile the
junior sister of Ndiforwah Joseph Alloh by name Azise Irene Ndeforwah is said
to have received a phone call from the brother confirming that he was alive but
has escape. Security forces have also been in search of Irine to get more
information of the where about of the brother but Irine has also escape for
safety.
An SDF delegation led by its National Chairman went
there on Saturday, May 26th. It should be noted that Fru Ndi, has made public
statements about the killings in Menka,Pinyin.
“Security forces could have surrounded the hotel and
used their military tactics and intelligence to stop these boys suspected of
being armed robbers. The method they used resulted in the deaths of many
civilians who joined the gang and those they abducted. The secessionists do not steal goats,
chickens, pigs and cows, and I have never heard that they raped a woman. It's a
liberation struggle, but, unfortunately, thieves have infiltrated their ranks.
Biya must get off his big horse and solve this growing problem every day with
more killings that radicalize young people,” said the chairman. “Something
suspicious took place in the hotel, how can you imagine that those that were
only injured were taken to the hospital but the military went to the hospital
arrest and killed them. Why were the military trying to erase all evidence if
these children were criminals as the government said?” the chairman added.
As of now only those who manage to escape can revile
what happen in the hotel provided they show up from their hideout. However, Should
Ndiforwah Joseph Alloh and Alondi Moses
Senwune show up anywhere at any time it is obvious that they will be killed.
Family members fear for the life of their children and hope that they remain
safe where they are.
The Anglophone crisis that
started as a protest by teachers and lawyers escalated to an arm
conflict.Hundreds of civilians including security forces have been killed since
the crisis started in 2016. About 160000 people have been internally display
according to Amnesty international and about 40000 more seeking refuge in
Nigeria.
Over 100 villages have been
burn down by security forces and the month of may have been the worst since the
crisis escalated.
