Anglophone Crisis in Batibo: Headless Corpse of Soldier Discovered

The unfortunate man was found on Thursday, after two days of digging.
A Cameroonian soldier has been discovered dead and headless in Batibo in Momo division of the Northwest region of Cameroon.
The headless corpse of the soldier of the Air Force was found on Thursday at about 11am. TCR learnt that before the shocking discovery, the soldier had gone missing for days. Our source also added that before his disappearance, the soldier was on duty in a school in the town.
At press time on Friday, the circumstances that led to the disappearance as well s the death of the soldier were still very unclear. Sources on the ground also revealed that there was no attack by secessionists before his disappearance.

However, heavy fighting between armed men and the security and defence forces of Cameroon has been reported of late in Batibo. Note that there have been tensions in Batibo ever since the kidnapping of the Divisional Officer as well as the Regional Delegate of Social Affairs by secessionists on two separate incursions.
In addition, this macabre discovery comes at a time when the governor of the Northwest region has signed an order prohibiting the circulation of bikes in Momo, Widikum and Balikumbat subdivisions as part of security measures within the context of the raging Anglophone crisis.
However, only motorcycles used by law enforcement, security or defence forces can circulate freely.
