An official of the Divisional Delegation of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development for Meme division in the Southwest region has been accused of supporting fighters of Anglophone separatists.
According to reports, Julius Bawe Njeya is suspected to have provided logistics to some armed groups to foster their activities in the Southwest and Northwest regions of Cameroon.
TCR gathered that the accused had already been interrogated by the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Chamberlin Ntou'ou Ndong, whom reports suggest got the tip from an anonymous source.
Sources close to the story have said that Julius Bawe is strongly accused of having aided activities of the Ambazonia Defence Force (ADF) financially and also for providing the said group topographic maps of the administrative unit.
Recall that the Ambazonia defense forces claimed responsibility for the abduction of the Divisional Officer for Batibo. This abduction was closely followed by that of the regional delegate of social affairs for the Northwest which some opinion holders have also blamed on secessionists.
The ADF has also staged several incursions against the defence and security forces of Cameroon and have also lost some of its militants in a crackdown staged by Cameroon’s military staff.
