A fake lawyer has been arrested in a court in Foumban, chief town of the Noun division in the West region of Cameroon.
Débonnaire Guy M.K was arrested on Monday March 19, 2018 and remanded in custody. The young Cameroonian said to be obsessed had often presented himself as a lawyer until March 19, 2018 when he was arrested.
He was in the court room of Foumban where he had gone to do what he has often done, that is, to defend people without having the right to do so.
Witnesses to his arrest said he was dressed in the black gown of lawyers and also carried files like other lawyers present in court.
According to Barrister Sterling Minou, a lawyer based in Douala, this indicates that “these elements constitute exhibits that will accompany the individual throughout the proceedings”, initiated by the Public Prosecutor.
At press time, the representative of the association of lawyers in the West region had not made a reaction in relation to this unmasking of a fake lawyer.
The Cameroon Bar Association should, unless otherwise, become a civil party in this lawsuit for the usurpation of the title of lawyer and the illegal exercise of the law profession by this guy.
