Cameroonian Soldier Mysteriously Disappears in Water while Bathing

A Cameroonian soldier has mysteriously disappeared in water in Mundemba in the Southwest region of the country.

According to reports, the victim was pulled down the water by a mass, said one of the two soldiers that were with him on the day of the mishap, Thursday March 22, 2018.

Nyamsi Djamen disappeared under a bridge in Dibunda while taking a bath with two other Cameroonian soldiers. Reports say that he had arrived in this village about 10 kilometers from Mundemba on Sunday March 18, 2018 for leisure.

And on Thursday, he decided to take his bath in a river in the village together with his friends. While they entered the water for that purpose, Nyamsi was the only one that did not come out. While he sank in the water and was untraceable, his clothes and weapon remained on the banks of the river.

 One of his companions claimed that he saw a mass which he could not describe, shoot and drag the disappeared soldier to the bottom of the water.

An intervention brigade was dispatched to the scene. Populations have also been asked to assist the search teams.

At press time on Friday, the body of Nyamsi was still being searched.
