Douala: Father Kills Own Son for Stealing His 1,500 FCFA

The corpse of a form three student is presently laying at the Deido District hospital mortuary in Douala, capital city of the littoral region after he was beaten to death by his father.

According to sources, the man killed his child after accusing him of stealing the sum of 1,500 FCFA from him. He was arrested by police and remanded in custody while he attempted to escape after realizing that he had killed the boy. The population caught him in the process of trying to take to his heels and handed him over to police.

Speaking from the police post where he was detained, the man who deeply regretted the death of his son said that the reason he flogged his son that way was to punish him and prevent him from doing the same thing in future.
