A court in Muyuka has been ravaged by an inferno that engulfed it on Wednesday June 13, 2018.
TCR gathered that just as the cause of the fire remains unknown, the damage resulting from it has yet to be established as well.
Even though no one or group has claimed responsibility for this act which sources said was seemingly an arson attack, accusing fingers have been pointed at Anglophone separatist fighters.
Our source said that separatists are prime suspects because they have a history of arson attacks since the ongoing crisis in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon broke out in November 2016.
In addition to the Muyuka Court of First Instance, a public transport bus and motorbikes parked near the public building were set on fire. Here again, the cause of the disaster is unknown.
The locality of Muyuka is often cited as a scene of violence related to the Anglophone crisis that has rocked the North West and South West regions since 2016. Last May 28, for example, as students prepared to sit the GCE exams, the city's examination center was attacked by armed and unidentified individuals, presumably separatists. The examination center was transferred to Buea as a security measure.
