Ambazonia Leaders Stage Attack on Ni John Fru Ndi

With the passage of time, persons regarded by secessionists as traitors to their cause keep increasing as the crisis continues taking new twists.
Even venerated a personality like John Fru Ndi whom most people believe is one of the Anglophone leaders that have stood should he go against the decision of those fighting for the restoration of the state of Ambazonia, TCR has learnt.
While Fru Ndi has decided to allow the SDF which he heads in his capacity as national Chairman, to run for all elections in Cameroon, Anglophone separatist Leaders have rather seen this as an act of undermining the Anglophone struggle.
The Interim Government of the separatists has sent warning signals to SDF’s national Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi, for his decision to allow his party contest in the 2018 elections.
The respected Fru Ndi has also been warned against holding an elective convention in Bamenda which convention begins on Thursday 22nd February, 2018.
On Monday February 19, the spokesperson for the interim government of Ambazonia in one of his regular outings on the media, condemned the SDF convention saying it was against the will of the Anglophone population whom he claimed wants the SDF to boycott the elections in order to add legitimacy to the struggle of Anglophone.
Chris Anu, reminded Ni John Fru Ndi that he had diverted the original intention of SDF which he said was to fight for the freedom of Southern Cameroons. He rhetorically questioned if ever since creation, SDF has fought for anything in favour of Anglophones.
He also accused the SDF party leader of clinging on to power saying, “The SDF was created 26 years ago with the slogan ‘power to the people’ but for the past 26 years, the power is still in the same people”.

Chris Anu added that the reason separatists do not want the SDF to participate in elections, is that, for the past 26 years, the SDF has not provided an agenda for the freedom of Southern Cameroons, citing late Albert Mukong as saying that the SDF deviated the original intention which was that of a free Southern Cameroons to that of a unitary Cameroon.
“After 26 years of fooling us, how does the SDF think that this time around, it is going to deliver or bring change to Southern Cameroons” Chris Anu rhetorically questioned.
He continued that, in 1991, the SDF boycotted elections with reasons that the playground was not fair and that the election was going to be rigged by the regime and regretted that the same party plans not to boycott elections against the demand and wish of the majority of Southern Cameroonians according to Chris Anu.
He added that, the SDF has never considered the will of the people of Southern Cameroons justifying that, when Hon. Wirba decided to mount the rostrum of the National Assembly to decry the Anglophone Marginalization, the SDF party rejected him and that till date, Hon. Wirba was still being considered by the party leaders as an outcast for voicing out freedom for the people of Southern Cameroons.
Chris Anu ended his declaration by warning that should the SDF hold its convention or take part in an election in the NW and SW regions, it shall hear from them (secessionists).
Before the outing of the spokesperson of secessionists, the banner carrying the publicity of the convention of the SDF party in Ntarinkon had been set ablaze by unknown persons.
Ni John Fru Ndi while reacting to that said, he was going to go on with the convention and that he is not a subject of intimidation or ultimatum.
SDF officials have regularly said the SDF party is a national party and that the party cannot side with Anglophones because of the Anglophone struggle or resign from parliament as most Anglophones demanded.
They have repeatedly averred that the party rather chooses to stay in parliament to push the government provide a solution to the crisis.
For several years now, the prime opposition party in Cameroon has often advocated for a federated Cameroon with four states, as part of its political agenda.
At the early stage of the struggle, Chairman Fru Ndi while addressing a crowd in Buea, said his party stands for a federated Cameroon and that he was going to change the form of state if the people invested their trust in him and voted for him.
Despite the threats and warnings from secessionists, there are still Anglophone Cameroonians who believe that boycotting elections will not help matters to say the least and that it will somewhat be wise enough if the party struggles to win presidency and enable an Anglophone to take power in Cameroon.
