Taken hostage last Tuesday, Patrice Dinguegue, appeared in a video published on social networks Wednesday June 7, 2018.
The community of Fundong in Boyo division of the Northwest region has again registered another ugly twist in relation to the ongoing crisis in the two English speaking regions.
Not long after an arson attack on a center of the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Exams, a police inspector has been abducted by alleged Ambazonia fighters.
A video of the abducted police inspector Patrice Dinguegue, was circulated on social media recently by his abductors who are believed to be acting in loyalty to the cause of Anglophone separatists.
In the video, the kidnapped police inspector confirmed that he had been abducted and that he had been fairly treated.
He however made an appeal to the government of Cameroon through the video. “I ask the government to do something so that we remain united,” said Inspector Dinguegue.
Recall that Boyo division has registered untold violence in the past months following fatal clashes between security and defence forces and Ambazonia fighters.
On day one of the written phase of the GCE exams, unknown persons suspected to be Anglophone separatists, attacked and set Government Bilingual High School Fundong on fire and examination papers were burnt in the event.
