Legendary Footballer Samuel Eto’o to Lead Peace Mission to Schools in NW/SW Regions


State broadcaster CRTV, has reported that the former skipper of the indomitable lions of Cameroon, Samuel Eto’o, intends to lead a campaign aimed at reinstating peace in schools in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon through sports.
According to the state owned media outlet, the ace footballer of international repute is touched by the plights of youths in this part of Cameroon where activities, especially educational, have been paralyzed by the socio-political crisis ongoing there since November 21, 2016.

The footballer intends to go visit schools in the two regions and express his solidarity. He made his intentions known to the Minister of Secondary Education, Dr Nalova Lyonga Pauline, during a meeting at the 9th floor of the ministry last Tuesday June 5, 2018.
State radio also reported that the former captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon also spoke with the Minister of Secondary Education about a sports-studies training project that he intends to conduct with the support of the government of Cameroon in the two troubled regions.
TCR learnt that the goal of the project is to allow interested young people to maintain and realize their dreams.
Samuel Eto'o, was making a public appearance for the second time since his arrival in Cameroon after the end of the Turkish championship where he plays.
Sunday, June 3, 2018, the African football star was at Mbankomo, on the outskirts of Yaoundé, where he watched live a division one championship game pitting Dragon football club of Yaoundé against Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda, a fixture that separated on a virgin draw.
