According to Carl Enow Ngachu, individuals take to the streets of some cities in Cameroon with documents bearing the visual identity of the institution and present themselves to parents as agents of the academy and promise to recruit their children for a huge sum of money.
Enow Ngachu, has issued an official statement to this effect and has warned the public against these people. He has therefore warned skeptics to consult his office in order to avoid falling prey to the scam of such hoodlums.
In August 2017, the Board of Directors of ANAFOOT, meeting in its first session, set at 50,000 CFA francs the amount of admission into the academy, i.e. 10,000 FCFA for registration and 40,000 FCFA for work kits.
ANAFOOT has been mandated to initiate and supervise young people to practice high level football. The institution is also responsible for the initial and in-service training of trainers in theoretical instruction and elaborate practice; development and national expertise in football-related professions.
On April 28, 2016, the President of the Republic of Cameroon signed a decree on the organization and functioning of the institution, six years after promising it in his speech to the youth on February 10, 2010.
ANAFOOT only took off in 2017, with the appointment of its staff including Enow Ngachu, as Director General and Issa Hayatou, as Chairman of the Board.
