Quest for Proof of Whereabouts of Ambazonia Leaders: Government Snubs 48 Hour Ultimatum of Ambazonia Fighters

48 hours have elapsed ever since Ambazonia fighters released a video showing the regional delegate of social affairs of the North West Region of Cameroon that was kidnapped since the 24th of February, 2018, in Batibo.
In the video that has made the rounds on social media, the regional delegate is seen calling on his boss (minister of social affairs) to intervene and cause the government to show where Ambazonia leaders arrested in Nigeria and extradited to Cameroon were being held.
It should be noted that the Ambazonia fighters also issued a threat to murder the abducted regional delegate should government fail to show where their leaders were being held within 48 hours.
The 48 hour ultimatum elapsed on Monday following its conveyance on Saturday March 9, 2018. However, the government of Cameroon has refused to wither in the face of threats from its opponents as it was yet to say anything in relation to the demands of the Ambazonia fighters at press time Tuesday.

Note that the whereabouts of the Ambazonia leaders arrested since 2 months ago in Nigeria, has been the best secret in Cameroon for more than a month. However, upon their extradition to Cameroon in late January February, Cameroon’s Minister of Communication and government’s spokesperson, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, confirmed via national TV in a press briefing that, the arrested leaders of Ambazonia had been extradited to Cameroon and that they were going to be arraigned before the competent court for the mill of justice to grind. But ever since his declarations, nothing has been heard about the Anglophone separatists.

Despite consistent pressure from rights group and the international community as well as Anglophone separatists, no one has been able to access.
It is reported that the 48 hour ultimatum given by the Ambazonia fighters, is for the government of Cameroon to show proof of their existence.
TCR gathered that after the released of the Video, the commissioner of National Human right commission Mr Chumenta Banda Divine paid the visit to the gendarmerie head quarter in Yaoundé but was equally denied access to see the leaders.
Many Anglophones especially those in Diaspora have accused the government of silently executing the leaders. The manner with which the government has handled the file of the leaders of Ambazonia, has caused worried even within the ranks of their families.
At the time of going to press on Tuesday, the government of Cameroon was still mute concerning the ultimatum given it by separatist fighters.
In the meantime, the regional delegate of social affairs as well as the divisional officer for Batibo, are still in the custody of their abductors.
It should be recalled that this is the second time that the Ambazonians are threatening the government of Cameroon on the same issue but each time, the government pays no attention gives their threat a cold shoulder.
