Terrorists of the Islamist sect of Nigerian origin launched an attack on the post of the 41st Motorized Infantry Battalion of Fotokol.
Reports from fotokol in the Far North region of Cameroon say that terrorists of the Islamic sect Boko Haram have launched an assault on the post of the 41st Motorized Infantry Battalion therein.
According to sources, the assault led to the deaths of about 6 members of the Cameroon army on Monday April 2, 2018 in Fotokol.
“At about 6pm, an attack of the station of the 41st Motorized Infantry Battalion of Sagme / Fotokol perpetrated by Boko Haram fighters on board a pickup caused 5 deaths, within the ranks of the army of Cameroon. The soldiers killed included Lieutenant Joly Nkomo, leader of this detachment, 3 other soldiers of the multinational joint task force of Ngoulma who came in for reinforcement were seriously injured. Also, a 1 14.5mm quadritub cannon was carried away, and the battle post completely burned,” reported Eric Benjamin Lamère Moutapbemo, a journalist very much close to the Cameroonian Ministry of Defense.
There is no doubt that in the war between the Cameroonian defense and security forces and the armed fighters of Boko Haram, the Islamist sect of Nigerian origin that has lasted for about 5 years, the Cameroon army has succeeded in truncating by a larger proportion, attacks by the terrorists even though they are yet to be completely kept at bay.
The terrorist sect despite the tact and competence of the Cameroon’s army still remains dangerous and has sporadic incursions into Cameroonian territory.
